Annual Essay Competition

An annual essay, slide show and poster competition is organized during the month of Rabiul Awwal. Children at all levels prepare compositions and slide show presentations on various preselected themes on Quranic teaching, the life of the prophet and contemporary issues in Islam and Islamic way of life.

This competition is designed to encourage children to learn about various aspects of the Islamic life and to improve their presentation skills and make them more aware and confident about their identity as Muslim children in Australia. This competition is open to all students in Victoria.

A body of judges selects the best compositions and awards are presented during the Seerat-un-Nabee function. Selected compositions are presented to the audience. The compositions are also posted at the AEC website.

EID-UL-FITRE & EID-UL-ADHA

Both Eids are the most significant festivals for Muslims. Eid-ul-fitre follows the month long fasting in Ramadan. Eid-ul Adha is celebrated on the day following the rites of the pilgrims on the day of Arafat, where pilgrims spend the day in prayer and supplication asking for the forgiveness of Allah and salvation and deliverance for themselves and others.
