Alhamdulillah, Al-Ehsan Centre is pleased to announce that scopes of our ‘Funeral assistance program’ are now extended.
On behalf of Al-Ehsan family the Hon. Member Social Welfare (and his/her team), In~Sha~Allah, will be standing by to offer the following Funeral assistances IF any specific request received from a deceased family.
a. Provide full assistance/support to arrange/organize A – Z funeral services as wished by the deceased family. Assistance may include:
i) Fully standing by next to the deceased family to provide full moral supports during this difficult time. With authorityfrom deceased family above team may offer the assistance arranging the funeral services at earliest opportunity and following the Islamic rites/rules.
ii) Organizing/collecting ‘Death certificate’
iii) Communicating with Coroner office (if involved), ‘Funeral Director’, transport facility, mosques, cool room facility, cemetery authority and Al-Ehsan media team with a request to keep posted the updated information to the community at each stage of the process.
i) Booking burial, arranging ‘Ghusl’ and Janaaja prayer.
ii) Make necessary arrangements of repatriation of the deceased body IF involved, should any specific requests received from deceased family in overseas.
iii) If local burial is involved, liaise with all relevant parties and provide assistance to move each process smoothly with full respect.
iv) A special financial assistance may offer from ‘Al-Ehsan Funeral Fund’ for an interim period to cover the associate costs of a funeral. This support would only be offered if specific request received from the shocked/devastated family. Alhamdulillah, this financial assistance can be offered as ‘Korze Hassana’ with the understanding that In~sha~Allah, it will be returned / topped up in ‘Al-Ehsan Funeral Fund’ by the family once they are out of shock.
b. Al-Ehsan Centre is collating most of the information associated with Funeral process, logistics available in Melbourne. This includes:
1. Graveyard costs.
2. Burial costs.
3. Transport costs.
4. Contact numbers of Coroner office, ‘Funeral Directors’, Mosques, Transport, Cool room facility etc.
5. Sources how to post the updated information electronically to the community.
6. Funeral procedures as per Islamic rites / rules, Janaaja prayer, burial.
Soon In~Sha~Allah, Al-Ehsan Centre will post you a “Funeral Booklet’ where all the important information will be readily available for you.
Arranging Funeral for a deceased is a collective obligation (‘ Fard –e- Kifaiya’) for the Muslim community. If one discharged this obligation, the entire Muslim community will be released from their collective obligation.
The current balance of Al-Ehsan Funeral fund is about $4000 and saved with MCCA. The Board of Management is now looking forward to raise this fund to a reasonable amount i.e. about $20,000. This will help Centre to offer the above extended services on behalf of Al-Ehsan community to fulfil our collective responsibility ( ‘Fard-e-Kafaya’).

Special Note : Alhamdulillah, the Dandenong Community Cemetery, Kirkham Road, Dandenong 3175 is now releasing a large area for Muslims where possibly will accommodate approximately over 200 graves. Indicative prices are:
1. Monumental Grave $ 2450
2. Lawn Grave $ 1500
If you are interested to book one or two for your own family with reasonable price, you are suggested to contact the Cemetery authority or take assistance from Hon. Member – Social Welfare, Al-Ehsan Centre.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever attends the funeral procession till he offers the funeral prayer for it, will get a reward equal to one Qirat, and whoever accompanies it till burial, will get a reward equal to two Qirats." It was asked, "What are two Qirats?" He replied, "Like two huge mountains."
